Hey Jen'....if you're referring to what's been going on here today, please don't take it personally because these certain few aren't worth it. Just be glad that we can walk away from the computer or turn it off completely and be rid of them... but it IS a shame that they try their best to ruin a good thing. Take care and hang in. This is a good group and we're going to keep it that way!

They're rude because they're "ignorant" plain & simple. They feel big by trying to make others feel small. Perhaps they're insecure too, but I have my doubts about that. They don't care how they hurt other people, no compassion. That's sad. We're a great group here & we don't need the likes of them here to insult us or speak rudely. Consider the source.

Immaturity and living in unhappy circumstance they cannot change. The other day I linked one of my contacts to my IM and when she came online she said the most horrific things to me, things that probably only a prostitute could know and I was too embarrassed to tell my husband the nature thereof. I just wondered afterwards what they heck was going on in her life that she turned out to be such a crude women, obvsiouly lacking in any pride or respect towards others.

I like your questions and answers and have noticed that you hide nothing. I can't understand all the in's and out's of this, but, apparently I'm not taking it serious enough. LOL!! I don't understand why people want to hide their info. I would think it would be an opportunity to converse with people of your own type. I've also noticed certain people patronizing each other and I know they don't care for me because I get thumbs down from the same group. But, I guess I may be wrong in the way I play the game!!

One of my 14 year old daughters is just rude. I've tried almost everything I know and she is just gripy and unsatisfied with her life and who she is.

I think that most who are rude to others are insecure about who they are themselves.

I think that Abe Lincoln's statement, "Most people are just about as happy as they want to be." Is true with rudeness too. "Most are just about as nice as they want to be."

The others (the difference between all and most in the above statement) are rude because they are insecure.

I haven't noticed this nastiness in this section, but everywhere else here it is rampant...no more so than in the Gay/Lesbian section where everyone seems to take shots at Gays...from the Religious right to the Straight homophobes....that is one very nasty area to enter. And don't even go near Religion OR Politics !....you won't believe what goes on in those sections. Marriage and Divorce is filled with lunatics who wonder what happened to the "Happy ever after.."

I think you hit the nail on the head. These people have so little self-esteem that they need to tear down others in order to make themselves appear better.

Yes sometimes that is the case....usually people are rude when they are not happy so they want to make others unhappy, it may also be because they're not educated (in some cases) or just mean spirited...people are very hard to deal with...but rudeness is not excusable.

Low self esteem, insecure, self loathing.
Juvenile attitude of disrespect for everything.
Ignorant, mean spirited and confrontational.

Politeness and courtesy grease the skids of society. Rude people feel left out and isolated.Since there are consequences for actions in the real world, they use the anonymity of the cyber world to vent their frustrations.

As I see rudeness gets lots of thumbs down.

I noticed also many being rude,it's almost like they carry a chip on there shoulder.
I would think that if you come to Y/A you should come to enjoy yourself and be pleasant.
