At my current salary I will be earning to much and not receive a social security check for the first 2 months of next year. I have already cut my hours but have to work at least 35 hours to get insurance benefits. I am 62 and single and need social security checks to make it as I don't make a lot of money. Has anyone else had this problem and if so what did you do to resolve it. Thanks for any help

Check out this page on the Social Security website - "How Work Affects Your Benefits"

http://www.ssa.gov/pubs/10069.html

You should be able to figure out exactly how you are affected.

Not much you can do - if you make over a certain limit for the year, then they reduce your benefits by $1 for every $2 you were over the limit. Check out the ssa.gov website for details, but it sounds like you've already investigated the rules.

Good luck.
