One of the most family-friendly Christian areas is Puyallup in Pierce County. If at all possible don't live in King County. The climate is temperate. August is the best month of the year for warm sunshine. It may snow a couple to a few inches once or twice a year which melts from rain within a few days. Get a sturdy car because the local governments don't get around to filling potholes.

Seattle is a beautiful city. There is tons to do, especially outdoor type stuff, but it does rain ALOT. There are lots of gray days, and if you have any issues with depression, don't move there. My mom had to move back after 8 years there, due to the lack of sunshine. But, with all that rain, there is lots of green everywhere. There are beautiful lakes and little islands, and it's really fun to take a ferry to other areas.
Another drawback is the cost of living there and the traffic.
But, if you don't mind the traffic and can afford to live there, do it!
The best car to own is something with good gas mileage, as you will be in traffic all the time.
Go on line and check out the Washington State visitors bureau for statistics.
Here is a link that might be handy too. Good luck.

I live in Sammamish, WA. Work in Bellevue, WA, a suburb of Seattle. It is beautiful here, very lush and green. Depends on where you are moving from on what you will think of the area. It is a big city with so much to do. Nightlife, restaurants there is always something to do. I love Issaquah/Sammamish area in regards to living there, you are surrounded by mountain ranges and trees so you feel out of the city but you are only a short drive from the city. That being said, the cost of living is very high and we do get a lot of rain. Summers can get as hot as in the 90's but typically in the 80's. Winters, we get snow occasionally, but it doesn't normally stick around very long.
I have always lived in Washington State, however only in the Seattle area for about 6 years, have met great people and love it here.
Traffic is a mess during rush hour, but you get used to it and learn ways to avoid 'some' of it.
If you don't like the rain, I would say avoid Seattle area, we do have a lot of rainy dreary days.
Hope this helps...

my mom's friend lives in seattle and she loves it. the only thing is that it rains ALOT in seattle. not downpours, just rainy. other than that its a really cool city with lots of stuff to do. there's alot of hills and mountains. and there's sea lions on the beaches. and theres tons of starbucks(a plus if you like coffee and/or frapachinos). oh yeah, and it doesn't really snow there either.
