According to Honda Tuning Magazine, Acura, a subdivision of Honda, was created as follows:
"The automaker [Honda] turned to San Francisco-based NameLab. Company founder Ira Bachrach and his staff created "Acura" from "acu," a word segment that means "precise" in many languages. Building on this precision theme, the "A" in the Acura logo became a stylized pair of calipers-a tool used for exacting measurements."

The Acura logo dates back to 1986, when Honda introduced the Acura sales channel for it's more expensive models in the US and Canada, in order to exploit a US loophole on the importation limit of foreign-built cars per company. Contrary to popular belief, the Acura logo is not a stylized "A" (in the manner the Honda logo is a stylized "H").
The Acura logo is actually an upright stylized caliper. It is meant to represent the commitment to excellence and the accuracy with which Acura's are built and engineered.
Name Acura is a Latin word that is the origin for the English word "accurate".

I recently purchased an brand new Acura and it came with a really nice Acura key chain. But I'm not sure if it's because of the dealership I purchased it from though. But since Acura is considered a luxury brand, I wouldn't be surprised if they did that at every single Acura dealership.

It seems to be the letter "A", but a little bit bent.
It's also similar to the H on Hondas, and Acura is part of Honda Motor Co.

We're talking cars, yeah?
Its a Japanese word (Akyura).
The symbol is a stylized 'H' since the company is owned by Honda.
