I believe so. Fundamental Christians (though by no means all Christians) tend to be Republican. People who "believe" that abstinance only education works, and that there's no way to reconcile creationism and evolution, and that we should support our president no matter what (as long as he's a Republican) tend to be Republicans. Hence, believers. On the other hand, Democrats are more likely to have higher educations, which is why colleges have the reputation of being hotbeds of liberalism, and they tend to question everything and to work hard at putting themselves into other peoples' points of view--hence, thinkers.

I call the republican party "faith based government" and I dont say that because of religion.
I say that because none of their policies have anythign to do with hard facts or data that proves they are successful..in fact the fact that several previous attempts at the same thing has never yielded the predicted results does not deter our republicans. They keep repeating the same mistakes, over and over again hoping for different results, or they offer new solutions that all the bones in our bodies tell us are suppose to yield results going south, but republicans inexplicably and without factual basis will believe the results will go north.
Voodoo economics is one example
The invasion and occupation of muslim countries to make them hate us less is another.

Any political movement, at some point, has a small group of thinkers leading it, a large group of 'believers' following those leaders, and a modest group of thinkers abandoning it because it's become too dogmatic.

They are believers and thinkers. They believe everything that Rush Limbaugh says and they also think it is the truth.
