Okay i'm black but that doesn't mean i'm going to stand by them. Micheal Vick is getting unfair treatment? He was abusing and killing dogs!!!! NAACP please shutup and let Micheal Vick's stupid @$$ be put in jail. I can't even believe this. Not everything is racism!

You're right. The NAACP took a u-turn somewhere between the civil rights movement and now. They're going in the wrong direction. They make everything a race issue now. But even though they're now going down the wrong path, I suppose we should not forget the great impact they've had in the past.
Also, there is a tiny bit of validity to some of their arguments. let's not forget that we live in a country were you are innocent until proven guilty.

I agree he did something wrong and he should go to court and be judged for his crime. According to the National NAACP that released this statement they are not involved:

"He absolutely must account for what he has done," Dennis Courtland Hayes, interim president and CEO of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, said in an interview with The Associated Press. He had earlier given similar comments to NBC's "Today" show
Just because a local branch is involved doesn't mean that the National branch is following suite. Contrary to popular belief most African Americans don't support each other just because they are African Americans. Race should never have come into play with this. If he did it he was wrong if he didn't let sleeping dogs lie.

not to be racist or anything, but the NAACP, Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, and other civil rights people always come out to scream racism, even when the black person was the one in the wrong and there is proof to that. but i think al sharpton and jesse jackson are jsut in love w/ the camera. but that is just my opinion and i have been told that i am racist because of it even though i do like black people, but everything is not a race issue in my opinion

Yes, they do piss me off at times. But again, they are not advocating that Vick not be punished. Just don't go overboard. Funny how animal cruelty is such a polarizing thing while loss of human life is accepted as the cost of humanity.

the whole mike vick thing was stupid (them sticking up for him was). and yeah sum of the stuff they say is racism most of the time isn't. but think about the stuff they have done for us blacks. so u can't just be completely mad @ them.

Yes what he did was vile but thousands of animals are slain for sport and meat everyday and you don't hear us demanding that you guys get thrown in jail!
