I should think that amount of money would be plenty to last you a week. If you add a one night safari usual cost of about £250. and say another couple of excursions for local sightseeing another £100. Souvenirs another £100. That is the expensive bit over? In my reckoning this will leave you £550. for the luxuries of drinking, socialising and nights out. I usually spend about £300 a week when I'm there as the hotels usually have full board and their own entertainment, and I still have a good social life and I still have my days out with friends. You will have to be extra vigilant, and not carry too much money about as there are muggings, just as there are anywhere else in the world. I would take travellers cheque's and change them into cash as you go or use the ATM's. I hope you have a great time.

Your thousand pounds is going to let you live very well. Remember, That there are ATM's just about everywhere now and that it is not a good idea to carry too much money around. You can always use the machine when you need any cash and it will give you peace of mind and make you safer. Have fun.
