If you are on the combination pill you have a 12 hour window of when you can take the pill and it will still be just as effective. If you are on the mini pill it's a 3 hour window, any longer and it must be counted as a missed pill.
You took it 2.5 hours later so you're fine, just don't make a habit out of it, it's easier to forget to take it when you're not taking it at the same time.

Yes, it s important to stick to a time when taking the pill. One other thing that could occur from missing on a regular basis or changing the times often is that it will mess up your schedule for your cycle.

I would recommend checking with your doctor for additional information to see what they say.

yes its important to stick to one set time to take your pill...the best way to get more info on why is to either ask your doctor or read the little booklet that comes whit your pills. but the many reason its important is because you run the risk of becoming pregnant especially if you and your partner aren't using a back-up form of birth control

It's more important to take it every day than it is to take it at the same time. I mean, it's ideal to take it at the same time every day, but don't freak out, you're fine. I don't take mine at the same time every single day of my life, the pill does have a bit of a shelf life, not much at all, but enough.
