I'm not sure, but in the Alt Rock train of thought you may like Le Meu Le Purr. I'd have a listen to a song of theirs called Pop Rocks and a Soda. See if you like it. They just made a new record, but I haven't heard anything off of it yet. They're local and I know them better live, but you can find them at the iTunes store.

Technically, Black Sabbath have been relatively underground of their heyday. i want to propose the Velvet Underground. they are indisputably the STRANGEST, maximum unique band i've got ever heard. pay attention to a pair of their previous due-'60s music.
