Ive had it for a few months, and it just keep getting darker. When I got it it was a really pretty bright green, and now its really dark, like a brownish green. Its an american green tree frog.

I have eight beautiful tree frogs, I know how you feel. It was startling at first.

They change color to thier enviroment. If they're near a lot of greens, they'll be green, if they're on a piece of wood, they're usually dull browns and grays. They need to blend, or else they're a walking snack for bigger creatures.

The amount of light and green foliage in it's tank does make a difference for the color of a tree frog.

I think they are supposed to change color. Why don't you do an internet search for tree frogs and see what you can find out.

It's normal.They will change color when the temperature changes,or the amount of light.My little frog does it all the time,and I've noticed that toads do as well.
