my friends and i were debating this yesterday

I think maybe.. but just a little. I think that if you have a crush on someone, you'll flirt and whatnot but might not act on it as much if you LIKED the person. I feel that if you liked them you might be more inclined to try to date them or make a move.

Yes, there's a difference. A crush is a potential boy/girlfriend. You can like anyone and not have a crush on them. For instance, you can like your girl friend and not have a crush on her at all.

A crush implies a degree of physical attraction and an interest in possibly developing a romance.

You and your friends "like" one
another.
But you don't develop a "crush"
on them.
Liking some one is a non-romantic
emotion.
Crushing on some one is a romantic emotion.
And a crush implies blind worship; as if madly in love or obsessed with that person.
Liking is very mild in comparison.

no id say thats the same thing....maybe actually liking them is liking their personality and knowing them but having a crush on them is to do with looks??
