I am going to my mothers wedding in early October. Her colors are red and ivory, so I bought a red dress. It's knee length and red. I had planned on a sheer black hose... but trying them on... it looks too heavy. Would a skin tone look better? It's a bright red dress, not a deeper red. I plan on wearing red shoes or black and red shoes.

Wear a light suntan color....something that's not to pale, but with a little bit of tan color....Make sure they're sheer!
Will look GREAT!

Definitely go with the fleshy or skin-toned hose... I agree that black might be just a bit much, especially with the red/black shoes. I'm sure you'll look fabulous no matter what you pick!

I think nude or a sheer hose would look most appropriate. You are going to your mother's wedding, not to pick up a guy. Try for simple and elegant. You can look sexy without resorting to black or fishnet which may just come across as tasteless and tacky. Have a great time and Congrats to mom!!

Go for sheer skin-tone hose. White or pink hose looks childish, and you're right, black is too heavy (at least for a wedding).

the see through hose are nice or the ones that have a line in the back are cute too. and have you see those heels from nine west that are red and black. they are real cute. the back is scrunched up and the red is shiny.

Ignore the idiots on here who say no hose, they are way out of style themselves and don't know crap!
I'd say go with L'eggs Sheer Energy in Suntan or Nude pantyhose.

No pantyhose. Seriously, nobody wears pantyhose anymore, not even to a wedding, that's outdated. Just lotion up your legs, maybe get a spray tan depending on your complexion and you'll look great in your red dress!

Nuetral or tan panty hose - not white or black and I would do black shoes. Too much red

Definetly a thin skin-colored panyhose that matches your skin good. It wont over power the dress like black.
