My family usually goes once a year -- splitting the hotel room, food, etc three ways, I would say I usually spend about $1200 on everything (that is flying from the east coast, gambling minimally, drinking a bit, taking in maybe 2 shows, lots of dining, and some shopping) .... but usually I count on someone hitting a good jackpot, and treating everyone to dinner or a show.

I go to Vegas about 3 times per year. I live in L.A. and drive, so I don't know much about air fare, except that Southwest has the best deal. How much to spend is a very individual question. Leaving out gambling, you can get by on about 100 per night for a hotel if you stay at the Orleans. Keep in mind the time of year affects rates a great deal. Now all the hotels are offering deals because it is hot. Immediately after labor day lots of prices will double. Cheap again the week after Thanksgiving and the week before and after Christmas.
If you are going to Las Vegas you may want to visit http://www.InternetDatingGame.NET where you can play a really fun game and maybe win a 2 night stay at the New York New York and free tickets to Zumanity.

hehe love the above comment :) I'm from Hawaii and I go there once an year .. I wish I could do it more tho. We get special prices through boydvactionshawaii.com. I paid one month ago for a trip for two in the mid of Sept. from Honolulu to Vegas .. Hotel for 4 nights and 5 days and major discounts on meals ($4 a buffet) for $994 .. so I guess you can say $497 per person. The only thing that most people don't like is the hotels are downtown but I don't mind at all. We even go through bodyvacationshawaii.com for rental cars .. we get them for about 20 a day.
We take $1000 each spending money then an extra 1000 for food, shopping ..etc.

I have been 3 times this year and will go again in Oct. See i have it easy because my bestfriend lives there so all i have to pay for is my ticket... but when i went in June I went with my family and we stayed at the stratosphere... we bought out tickets and hotel in a package it was $445 per person for a two night stay...(remember including plane ticket) now the more advance you buy your tickets and book your hotel the cheaper it will be! I spend about $200 on drinks and food alone (which is good)!! and then i wormed my way into getting into clubs for free... so if you are smart with your money you can go and come back without being broke!! looks like that trip only cost me about $700 give or take!! good luck!

Southwest has the best deals for flights, and as an added bonus, if you miss your flight (always an issue) they'll let you on the next one and not charge you anything at all. I like to book on travelocity.com for hotels, I can usually get a place for around 80 a night at circus circus, but best western also has a place on the strip that you can get good deals at. Food is usually pretty cheap, they still have great buffet's there and cheap fried food is available everywhere. But if you want to go up scale, be prepared to spend for it. I usually go for around 1000 for a three night stay, and I go maybe 4 times a year. I eat and stay conservativly, but love to shop and splurge on one great show. By the way, some of the best shows like the elvis impersonators or female impersonators are on the old strip. Good luck and have fun, J

We live in Denver and go there about 3 times a year. Mostly to see shows/concerts, eat at great restaurants (the kind you find in NY, not Denver, unfortunately), and do the spa/golf thing.
We go for the cheap airfare (Southwest) then splurge on hotels, food and entertainment. The dollar amount varies, but a long weekend might cost $2,000 or so.

My husband and I are going in November for our fourth trip. We spend about $2000.00 on air fare (first class), we like staying at either Treasure Island or the Venitian so that runs about $1200.00 or so. Meals... tough to say, depends on the restaurants, sometimes room service, sometimes the buffets.

I usually go there at least once a year. Minus the amount that I gamble, I probably spend $300-$400.
