You can find out as soon as your HCG levels are high enough to detect in a pregnancy test - either a blood test at the drs or a "at-home test" using urine.
For most women, taking a test the first day of your missed period would be good enough to show a positive or negative test result. If you still don't have your period, then test again a few days later - because HCG doubles every 2 days (more or less).
That said, I tested positive 4 days before my missed period with my first child. (10 days past ovulation).

I found out when I was 3 weeks along, so about 1 week after my missed period.
