I don't understand why they make girls go to high school when there are some women who just want to get married, have babies, and take care of the home.

Well, if something happens to her husband... either he passes away or leaves her, then she needs to be able to support herself and her children. Also, I enjoy being a homemaker, but not every woman likes staying at home. Everyone is different and makes different choices.

Yes, she needs to finish High School.....

Because if you can't read, write and interpret the written word in our society, it is impossible to function.

Because if you don't have some basic math skills you can't balance a budget.

Because if you do not learn proper nutrition, and how to prepare it you cannot feed a family.

Because if you do not understand your own physiology you can't be effective with health and weight maintenance or birth control.

Because if you do not understand how nature and science affects your daily life you will have no respect for the environment and technology that supports you.

Because if you do not understand the function and history of government you become an ineffective voter.

It also teaches a respect for authority, which I thought you were so gung ho for.

It teaches teamwork, and it teaches individual accountability.

High School teaches the kids how to make an effective decision, and what the consequences of poor decision making can be.

You see, son, "being a homemaker" is not a little hole you crawl into.

It is one aspect of a full and rounded life. A life that has many responsibilities, as citizen, daughter, wife and mother. And "being a homemaker" requires skill.

Best to stay in school and learn.

Because, it is very likely she will change her mind later. Either because she has to for financial reasons or because she wants to know what is out in the "outside" world. Education is not just for a job. (Although for pities sake, get a degree in college that will actually help you get a job. Trust me) Education helps you become more flexible in your thinking and better able to relate to people . Both these skills are needed by homemakers. Further more what's a girl to do if her husband dies, decides he's sick of being the sole provider or is not interested in being her husband anymore? A woman needs at least a basic education to start with.

I'm sure it would be beneficial just for the friends-- if she's a homemaker, she'll probably be friends with a few girls who would want to be homemakers too and then they could sit around all day with their kids at the park, etc. and have Mommy and Me Days and reminiscence about High School.

High school is part of a BASIC education. Even if a girl wants to just stay home, it is essential that she at least have the basic education covered. The only time I feel she should not go to high school is if she's being home schooled on a school board-approved curriculum.

The girls never used to go to school in the olden days…it was just the men who went because they needed a job to look after their wives and family. The girls usually stayed at home and did the housework and helped with the chores, but today, the ladies, choose to go out and work and not stay at home since now the laws of the government make it permissible for women to work outside and vote, etc…but I think it is right for a lady to stay at home and look after the children and the house. But if she doesn’t have children, I think she should go out and work, but she should do a lady’s job (e.g. nursing, midwifery, caring for children, sewing etc…) rather than business, accounting, engineering, law etc…I just feel that all those jobs are for men…my Aunt wanted me to study these jobs, but I just feel its not right for me as a girl…I want to do something that is feminine and I know God will be pleased with me, so even though I know that my aunt will be little upset with me, I want to please God, because it’s much, much worse if He’s upset with me than if my aunt is upset with me! But as for going to school, I don’t think there’s anything wrong with it (it’s really a matter of personal choice), however, I do agree with u that they shouldn’t force girls to attend high school if they are going to be homemakers and take care of children…however, they should get some education so at least they can read, write, talk, etc…but u are right, high schooling education shouldn’t be forced, but these days, they won’t even let u go into nursing without a year 12 certificate and 3 years of full-time university…so today they pretty much force girls to get an education to work…oh and also in a couple of years time, the Australian government is introducing a new law that all women and men must work!! So it’s just getting worse and worse! But I think it is good for the girl to still finish highschool just incase something happens to the husband (e.g. he passes away, becomes disabled, etc.) at least she can still get a job to support her children. But in that case, she should get a feminine job so that she stays in God’s plan for her life.....God Bless! :)
