I am a Manager. When an Employee is not in my good graces it's fairly easy to turn that around. Go to your manager and ask him where you need to improve to better do your job . Then work hard be on time, dont always want to leave early, dont call in sick and work as hard as you can all the time you are there when you run out of stuff to do go to them to see what else you CAN do for them. Usually if you do your job dont goof off and show up to work on time you will be okay.

When I have a negative opinion of an employee I usually have a reason in my mind. My reason may not always be right or justified but it is always my reason.
Go to your employer and tell him that you feel that you are not satisfying him on the job. If you like the job tell him so and ask him what you can do to turn the relationship around. It may be a conflict of personalities, it may be that you remind your boss of some jerk known in the past, it may be that you are not doing something that your boss considers important. You won't know until you treat your boss with respect and show that you are interested in being a better employee. The fact that you ask on the Internet shows that you care about your relationship with your employer and now you need to show your employer that your interest extend to more than just a paycheck - go talk directly to your boss.

pretty much what Justin said. although it may take some time. IF the manager has an instant dislike of you, then you will have to prove yourself to them and get them to change their minds. First impressions are hard to change sometimes. good luck.
