It's another way of helping others. It's also a way to get advice on something that perhaps friends are not willing to talk about -- or on something a person is not willing to talk about with them. There are some pretty informed people on here.

Felines when I get thumbs down I know it usually means I have annoyed the trolls :-) Dont let it bother you. Too bad we dont have emoticons, we could give you smilies !
For me I am living in almost total isolation now, roommate has gone back overseas, cant drive because of the my frozen shoulder, waiting until the end of the month to move - and I am finding it SO hard to do nothing.
IF I didnt have my computer I would be climbing the walls and going crazy. (crazier)
As it is my time on here has to be eeked out through the day because I dont want to drive my pain level up to where I cant be on here.
And honestly, as my disability worsens I lose more and more friends, I might have 2 left, not sure, havent heard from them in awhile.
And here is something even more pathetic, you guys are the only people I have talked to in a month - except to fight with my kids over the money they owe me.
At least I can still laugh at myself - and my cat :-)
I cant wait until the end of the month, that is if my son actually shows up to move me. He has a new GF and hasnt phoned me in over a month now, I have to call him, and he is always "busy".
I will be back in the city, and what a relief that will be. The country is so over rated IMO.
And I hope I can make people smile once in awhile. Be of some support.

I am not sure that I am filling a void. I like to talk and hear what people have to say about different subject matter. My life is pretty filled up. I have family etc. so I guess I just like hanging out on Yahoo every now and then. It's fun. So many witty people out there!

It gives me an opportunity to exercise the gray cells, and from time to time, I get some positive feedback that tells me someone considered my response worthwhile.
I must say, it hurts my feelings, though, when I give a thoughtful answer and get a thumbs down, when I KNOW I've said nothing to offend anyone.
That's an ego thing, though, because I don't think my answers are bad. Sometimes I can't resist being silly, though.

isotope2: I know Yahoo doesn't want us to "chat", but it will be my pleasure to see you on here anytime. I know the grown kids that are supposed to help
are seldom there. I have totally quit relying on them for anything then I am not disappointed and angry.
I sure hope you get feeling
great in the near future.
when you get moved, tell us
where you are. My very best
wishes go with you.

Well, some of us like to Share what we know (like Me), and others like to Vent their frustrations (like those who- "Can't understand why..."). It's a "Chat Room for the Anonymous". :)
