Ethnic talent?? wat does that mean when a talent agency says "ethnic talent only"?

i was looking at the description of the Veronica Goodman talent Agency in Cherry Hill, NJ and it said this : This agency is looking for new scripts for the stage and television, plus, new entertainers. Don't visit the office. Represents non-union and union performers from 12 years to adult. Ethnic talent only. Only accepts mail submissions - send pictures and resumes.

The company specialize in non-caucasian talent. For them, it is easier to obtain jobs. I do not think they can discriminate against caucasian talent.

There is a need for every type of person. If there is a show or movie going into production that takes place in a NY or NJ Ghetto, someone who speaks "the king's English" won't get a part. If the locale for the production takes place in a castle during the time of Sir Walter Scott, then you can bet that the extremely talented and well paid cast of the Soprano's (especially Pauly Walnuts) will not be cast. Based upon the subject matter of the show, it's actors have to be believable in their parts.

A word of caution...There is a big racket out there! Ads in papers and magazines that go something like: "Work as a movie or TV extra" and earn $300 to $400 per day. All ages and types needed". If you call them, they will tell you that they need $75, $100, etc. from you for your "picture portfolio", etc. These are ripoffs...You will never get anything like extra work through them. They just want your money! Same scam going on with many modeling agencies.

"Ethnic Talent" means they are looking for ethnicity other than Caucasians. You can be asian or anywhere along those lines is what they are really looking for.
