also...i am in the construction industry and if you drive around many of the new residential developments are on hold....they have stopped building.
the company i work for is a new home builder in Southern CA and they have laid off over 500 people (admin and construction workers)...they have halted work on many projects....and are currently in a wait and see mode.
I think many new home developers are in this same situation.

...Is in decline. The housing market has slowed to a crawl... And until some of the excess homes are finally sold off (maybe by NEXT Summer- if we're lucky), there'll be very FEW new Real Estate developments...
