I am going to Wonderland, this week or next. Has anyone ever put their dog in the boarding facility there. I do not want them Not to care for her, and she can't be home alone. (She is 6 months old) she will pee in the house, and it is just too long. What was your experience like when you put your dog there? Thank you.

I've never boarded a pet at an amusement park, and never will. The boarding facilities, while cheap, are NOT temperature controlled, as in, NO A/C! Only a few windows. There's no way I would let my pet swelter in a hot facility for hours on end.

And the amusement park facilities, as far as I know, only provide water. They don't take the animals out for bathroom breaks (too much of a liability, makes a lot of sense if you think about it), and they don't provide food, only water. You are responsible for bringing food for your pet.

If you are worried about your pet being at home alone all day, ask a neighbor to take care of her, or pay the higher fee and board her in a local kennel. Our vet has a kennel and only charges $8 a night. And they feed and walk, and give potty breaks for the dogs that stay there, and it's temperature controlled!!

Boarding facilities are privately owned businesses so they can make their own rules and policies. When you sign a boarding contract, you are agreeing to abide by their policies while you board and ride on the premises. That said, I think it is a stretch that she can tell you that you are not allowed to ride bareback. I doubt that anyone has that rule written into a lease as it basically doesn't make any sense. You can look at your contract and see if there is some general nomenclature that would allow her to do anything she wants or put any restrictions on her boarders that she wants, but again, that would be broad and doubtful. Furthermore, if you do not do as she wishes, she can kick you out. So you have to make a judgment call of what is more important to you. You could try talking to her about it and tell her you do no feel that restriction falls within the confines of your agreement with her. Then just see what happens from there. She may or may not be reasonable. Personally, I don't think she has any right to restrict you in this way. Your contract with her, no doubt, releases her from any reasonable liability issues in boarding your horse there because horses are a very high risk proposition. So was someone at fault for allowing the dogs to be running loose? If you have a horse that can be spooky at something like this, you can really get hurt and this type of practice at a boarding facility is very dangerous. I doubt seriously if the owner's insurance would cover such a matter in general terms if her insurance agency knew there were numerous dogs allowed to run loose with boarders and horses with the chance of a dog fight breaking out, even if it is just a little skirmish. This is very unsafe. If I were the owner, I would be more upset and concerned about the situation with the dogs than I was about you riding bareback, and of course, the fact that you could have been hurt. Please be safe and hopefully, you will be able to get this worked out. I have always rode bareback a couple of hours per week to work on my seat and balance and basic communication with my horse. It would be a shame if you were to lose the capability. Take care.

No way! I'd never put my dog in a kennel. Can one of your friends come stay with her?
