my dad seems to be blaming me, but i always have my stuff turned off when im not in my room. But our bill is still ^ there. So what can i do to make it go down? Because i mean that could go toward my car payments!

i live in south florida, I really don't think turning the AC off will be a good idea!!!!

Things that turn off but still have some kind of battery in them to keep track of time and whatnot, like your computer, your TV, cable box, etc, are STILL drawing energy in the "off" mode. Maybe you ought to go through the house with your dad and show him ways, besides your own stuff, that he could be saving energy.

Don't forgot to turn lights off when you leave a room.

Also suggest those new halogen light bulbs. The curvy ones.

It's been a HOT Summer in many parts of the Country... I'll BET it's the Air-conditioning that's killing you. Buy a couple of cheap fans & turn down the AC as far as you can- maybe that will help alittle... Reducing the electricity in just ONE room- is not going to reduce the bill that much...-So I'm sure it's not ALL your fault...

I TOO LIVE IN S. FL MY BILL IS $200 FOR A ONE BEDROOM WITH 2 PEOPLE:( . TURN AIR UP WHEN YOU LEAVE, OPEN A WINDOWS IF POSSIBLE, DON'T RUN THE DISHWASHER EVERYDAY DO FULL LOAD OF LAUNDRY ETC.
