I dont think so
The yanks have been hot but their doing it on offence with mediocre pitching. The yanks will cool off And Will struggle down the stretch due to there pitching.
The red sox are the most complete team in baseball. They have solid offense, An ace In Josh Becket And The Hideki Okajima, Eric Gagne , Jonathan Papelbon combo pretty much an automatic win when the sox are leading in the 7th inning
The yankees will not win the wild card because the mariners will. So no yankees in the fall classic let alone the world series

Both teams are playing well. There's a chance for both, but seriously, the Yankees were over when they let the Red Sox come from an 0-3 deficit to win the AL pennant. They haven't recovered much from it and they really aren't going to. If they do recover, it won't be enough to get to the World Series!

As a Yankee fan I would have to say yes but theres still a lot of baseball to play and anything can happen. The Yankees have been playing like the Old Yanks but they have to get past August and the next two series against Detroit and Boston are HUGE. Time will tell

I say lay off the scotch! Yankees don't have the pitching too win anything! They'd have a hard time winning a championship game against the top minor league team their pitching is so pathetic! They don't even have an ace on the staff good luck trying to catch the Indians, Tigers, Mariners, and Red Sox. It's not going to happen.

I don't think they will catch the Red Sox...they may win the Wild Card...but even if they do win the Wild Card the Yankees do not have the pitching to go deep in the playoffs (probably would lose in the first round) so no to the World Series...I don't see them making the playoffs because of that lack of pitching...pitching becomes very important in September.

I don't see them catching the Red Sox. If they make the playoffs I guess they have a chance to win the World Series, but I wouldn't bet on it.

Yankees aren't even going to make it to the playoffs. The Red Sox are in a slight slump-- Yankees are playing well beyond their means and will crumble.

The head-to-head match-up in September will decide the division. Whoever does not win the division will have a difficult time getting in the playoffs with Seattle playing so well.
I hope the Yankees don't get in; I really hate them.
