It will be soo much better!!!!!!! I have 2 boys and then I had a girl!!! She is now 2 and she has been so much easier and more fun than the boys. Boys are so energetic and really kind of gross sometimes that it really drives me nuts sometimes!!! It is really nice now to have someone else in this house that is like me. Boys are a foreign world to me and girls I know. But i have heard that boys are harder when little and easier once their teen years come, and girls are easier when little and harder once their teen years come. But for now I love being able to dress her and paint her nails and just spending time with her. And now my oldest son is fixing to be 8 and he starting to really notice girls ( and i mean women with breasts) and i just feel soo awkward around him sometimes. Raising boys for me has been a very new experience that just hasn't been as fun as the experiences I will and have had with my daughter. Congratulations and good luck!!!

Well, first of all, congrats! I was the only girl too. I had 5 brothers (all older) so I kinda know what you mean. Now I have the opposite situation all girls and one boy so it's a change! There are differences in raising a girl vs a boy and it will make a big impact on how they go through life. Girls tend to be more needy in the beginning months, but then they turn off of mommy and on to daddy and basically couldn't care if you burst into flames unless they are hurt, sick, or want something they know daddy wouldn't go for but you would. Boys on the other hand are the lovers and huggers and the "I love you mommy" "you're my girlfriend, mommy" stuff. You won't get that out of a girl. Daddy will but you won't. As far as discipline, I have found that girls listen and do better in general following the rules. Boys will sneak around and do what they want and be willing to take the punishment if they REALLY want to do something they aren't supposed to. Diaper changes are different. You don't have to make the big pee shield to save yourself from a squirt in the face when you are changing a girl. Boys tend to be more climbers and jumpers and girls seem to be more of the check it out and find a safer way to go about it. I've never had one of my girls hang from the dining room chandelier, but the boy...he's another story! LOL
Another thing is with clothing. Girls clothes tend to be cut smaller for size so a 0-3 in girls will be cut smaller than a 0-3 in boys so keep that in mind. Girls aren't really smaller, but for some reason their clothes have to be. They also tend to fall apart alot quicker than their male counterparts, not because they are rougher on them, but because girls clothes aren't made to take a wearing, but don't put your girl in boys stuff. My mom dressed me like a boy and even gave me boy haircuts. Don't do that to your girl. Teach her the important and fine are of girlie girl shopping. She'll get plenty of boying up from the boys.

Personally I think girls are easier! I only have 2 girls myself, but I have spoken to lots of other Mum's with boys and they say girls are easier. Mainly because we are girls ourselves! For example, we know a bit about how things work down there, if you get my drift. Just yesterday my friend rang me freaking out because he little boy was red and sore in a region that is largely unknown to her! If you have handled boys, you'll be fine with a girl. It's so much easier to find gorgeous clothes for a girl too! Fun to dress her up and show her off! You'll love having a girl

It is just a wonderful thing to have a girl whose day to day needs are identical to that of her mother! Basic care of a baby girl is not that different from a baby boy!

Let her buy unlitited amounts of cream/makup she wants when she gets older. Really. There much cleaner too! Have her be in a girly enviroment.
