They are the real deal - superb offense. Maybe a few questions on defense but overall they are the team to beat in the NFC this year. They are well coached as well. I'll happily trade with you - so that my Redskins would actually win some games for a change.

THE SAINTS SUCK
hahaha, just kidding
maybe, maybe not, this is a big proving year for the saints. But here is the problem, the saints too some Defensive poundings in the off season.
which is funny because the very reason the saints did so well last year was that htere D SOMEHOW managed to stop everything thrown there way. There D last year came out of no where and no one saw it comeing
it is for that reason that they did as well as they did. There offince is good and will remain good, but if that D keeps playing like **** that dont expect much of them because for every 10 they put up the other guys will put up 14...
they need that key element and i fear they dont have it this year.... good luck with those boys becuase they were a LOT of fun to watch last year

The Saints have young talent that "could" be in contention for years. I say could because I know how Tom Benson operates. The Saints have a good enough defense to make it to the Super Bowl. Personally I thought they were going to remedy the Fred Taylor situation from last year, but I guess not.
The NFC championship game last year we got screwed by the refs. Not calling a single penalty on the Bears all game is absurd. Don't get me started on that crap.
The Saints are not one year wonders. They'll be right back in the mix of it again this year. If you remember, they stunk it up in the preseason last year also. Don't be discouraged. Remember, the Saints are comin'!!

They are not, especially because they finally found a QB.
Before Katrina, this team had 4 out of 5 non-losing seasons despite Jim Hasslet at coach, who never realized the potential of Marc Bulger and Jake Delhomme who now are top 10 QBs and played with Aaron Brooks and Jeff Blake.
So, this was not a bad a team before Katrina and the 3-13 season. Bringing a true QB, a gift by the Texans named Reggie Bush and good draft picks like Jahri Evans and Marques Colston are reasons to think they have potential for the coming years.

I am not terribly impressed by them.
Let's look at this historically.
They had 5 straight 8-8 seasons prior to 2005
There is absolutely nothing to suggest this would not have continued without Hurricane Katrina.
Following Katrina they played a weaker schedule and ended up 10-6. Is it unreasonable to ask how different a 10-6 record vs weaker opposition is than an 8-8 one vs stronger opposition? I don't think so!
So what is my prediction for the Saints? 8-8

strange that anyone answering this will mention Bush.. but that's not the key.. as Deuce goes so do the Saints.. for 3 years running up until last year Deuce came up lame.. so did the saints.. last year he played to potential and avoided injury.. Brees comes in and they rule all and make it to the NFC championship game.. so I say go with how things have been.. if Deuce makes it through the year they'll be solid.. if not.. they'll suck.. and sending off Joe Horn was a mistake in my opinion.. he was a team leader and a heck of a receiver..

They are a young up and coming team that should be around for a few years. They have talent all most skilled positions, including the most important one, QB. Drew Brees is a force, and should continue to improve.

The offense is great. The defense is medicore. If the defense can step this year then they will be in the superbowl. I dont think they will be one hit wonders. Payton is to good of a coach for that to happen.
I am also from New Orleans.

They hired a quality head coach, and changed their attitude to a winning one - they expect to win when they take the field.
Also, they finally have a solid QB, Brees, for the first time in years. They may not win as many games as last year, but are definitely not one year wonders.
