I think the punishment should fit the crime.
A. Sentence Vick to mandatory community service in which he has to be responsible for cleaning the dog's kennels at the SPCA for two years. He should also have to start a fund for helping abused fight dogs find homes.
or
B. Just throw him in a hole with his hungry pit bulls and let them decide whether to let him go, or fight over the good meat.

In sport hunting you go out and kill animals for no reason other than your own amusement - sometimes you'll even send a dog to catch the scent of the animal so that they can corner them and viciously tear them apart. Sometimes you may even put a little salt lick on a tree hoping that an unsuspecting deer will come by and you can blow them away as you hide perched in a tree. In dog fighting, you kill and maim animals for no reason other than your own amusement. You tell me the difference. I'm not being sarcastic either, I'd really like to know what the difference is as you see it. As far as I'm concerned, they're both despicable and people aren't up in arms because it's animal cruelty, they're up in arms because it's animal cruelty that involves cute, domesticated pets.

I agree racism is playing a part, if it was anybody else with no NFL contract, No big money they would already be in jail awaiting trail...

If you can't do the time, don't do the crime...

If he is guilty he should be dropped by the NFL and given ample time in prison to think about what he has done. Dogs are also gods creation...

maybe if some of these people that have or go to these dog fights had to suffer through the same things that these dogs do, like electrocution, then maybe they'd think differently about it. Vick deserves what he gets and all his cohorts with him.

I think it's absolutely dispicable what he and his partners in crime did to those dogs. I think he's an idiot for doing what he did. He just threw his whole career away, for what? Well, at least he'll have some time (about 12-18 months) to think about it. Let's hope he comes out a smarter, better person. I, for one, won't hold my breath.

I believe in any case of animal cruelty, that the owner should be made to suffer in the same way the animals did!!
