The Cleveland Indians.
I was raised in Ohio ( I dont live there anymore) and went to the old Municipal Stadium to watch them when you could buy a bleacher seat for $3 and move down to lower box because there were only 2500 people at the game. In the 70's and 80's when this team was in a big trouble the city was too. Many people around the country made fun of Cleveland and still do. When they built Jacobs Field in 1994 and the 90's came around, this team really rejuvinated the city. I will always be a fan, not just a front runner like most others. So much history that people dont even know about or remember. I was at Lenny Barkers perfect game in 1981, I was 11 years old. How many people know that DiMaggio's streak ended in Cleveland? Feller, Boudreau, Lajoie, Doby, Colavito, Al Rosen, Tris Speaker, etc. Last World Series was in 1948 so it has been almost 60 years since we have won a World Series! Ouch!
I played A ball for them in 1991. Met many of the stars most people only read about. I remember when Jim Thome came up in 1991 and was a good 3rd baseman with a lot of power.
Lastly, a friend of our families worked for the Indians front office for over 25 years. Three years ago she passed away. The entire Cleveland Indians organization shut their offices down the day of funeral and hired temps to monitor the offices and phones so they could attend the funeral.
Even if I was not the huge baseball fan I am, I will always respect the organization for the caring they put into their people.
The Cleveland franchise has been around since 1901 and I hope they will always be around to support the city and its fans.

The Boston Red Sox. They win, and they have a great history. They conquered a curse which was great by wining the World Series in 2004. I also like them because they are the home town team. They play in the oldest ballpark in baseball (Fenway was built in 1912), and the have the Green MonstAH! The players are all relaxed and enjoy the game like baseball should be. I mean, they take it seriously, but unlike a lot of the players in the MLB, they have players that play because they love the game, not just for the money. The Sox are a team that is fun to watch, they have the greatest rivalry in sports, and they have the biggest fan base in baseball aka Red Sox Nation. They are America's baseball team, and that is why I love them.

I was born and raised in St. Louis with the Cardinals. Conceived during the 1964 miracle ascent to the pennant. They remain the most successful National League team and have the best player in Albert Pujols.
Even though I now live in Cincinnati and somewhat support them, I'm still a die-hard Redbird!

The Washington Nationals, because I was born in Nova Scotia and became a Montreal Expos fan, since they were the closest team, and I would go up to Montreal every year with my dad. When the moved to DC, it was the only team I could cheer for.

St. Louis Cardinals
I live about 45 minutes away from Busch Stadium and I remember how I used to go to the games when I was younger (3-5 years). I used to be excited just being able to cheer for the Cards. Now, at 13, I follow the games, I go to the games, and I check the standings daily. I guess I like them because they're the closest team, but to me, it's not just that; to me they're the only team.

Yankees.....I am from New York, and have followed the Yanks since the early 60's. My childhood hero was Mickey Mantle. I will never forget the year they got beat by the Pirates. The Yanks outscored them, by so many runs, yet lost four games by a run or two....just unbelievable. I was 10 years old and I cried.

Oakland Athletics. They play great ball, making it to the playoffs every year, and they do it with very little money. Did you notice they uproot star players, and when the contract is over they have to give them away because they can't afford the salary. For example (tim hudson, frank thomas, jason giambi, jermaine dye, mark mulder, and barry zito). Yet they always get new young stars like this year their crop is Travis Buck, Kurt Suzuki, Donnie Murphy, Santiago Cassilla, Andrew Brown, etc.

Baltimore Orioles cause I always admired Cal Ripken. Yesterday's 30-3 massacre was humiliating, but I still root for my O's.

The Kansas City Royals - because I love everything about my hometown and I'm not a fairweather bandwagon jumper like a lot of other chumps.

Royals. They don't have the money to buy superior players but most the guys on the team are trying to impress the bigger clubs so they try hard and hustle.
