zeggy: The reason I asked this question was that, having looked at the questions in news and events today almost all were concerened with the McCanns.
Yet almost all the participants in the McCann debate claimed to be interested primarily in Madeleine and child welfare whilst accusing her parents of anything up to and including murder.
A little boy gets shot dead in Liverpool and hardly a peep from anyone.

Arthur I couldn't agree with you more, over the last few days quite a few people have posted some very good questions it has been so refreshing.Although I answered a few questions in the beginning it has become incredible tedious, I look forward to some interesting questions and hope that the McCanns are soon removed to the History category where they now belong..

That would have been a cowardly, dispicable act on an adult, but an 11 year old? What the hell could a child possibly do to deserve that? I would love to spend five minutes alone with scum like that, they don't deserve to be living.
As for the McCanns, I know you don't want to hear it, but I totally disagree with what they did and the way they are carrying on now, and if someone asks for my opinion on the subject, I will gladly give it. I agree that some posters have gone above and beyond what should and shouldn't be said about them , some of the things posted disgusted me and I don't even like them very much. But I'm doing a Literature Degree which entails me studying the likes of the works of Shakespere and the nineteenth century novel, so I don't think I can be considered a halfwit by any stretch of the imagination.

Yes, a new low, in terms of gun crime in the UK. To hear that little boy's mother on News 24 was heartrending. I have nothing to say about the McCanns, other than I am sick to death of all the q and a on Yahoo about this topic. What makes it any more important than all the other atrocities committed against children, day in, day out. We live in terrible times. I do think that this website attracts real reactionaries.

I am sick to the back teeth of all the McCanns questions. There seems to be an obsession with it,m not sure why? Yes it is sad that somewhere out there could be a very frightened little 4 year old girl, but let the police and that do their jobs and stop the speculation.
I was appalled at hearing the news late last night from Liverpool, and again earlier in Letchworth a man was shot in broad daylight!
Sad so sad the world we all live in now.

The halfwits are the people who go through the McCann threads giving a thumbs up for every anti answer and a thumbs down for every pro answer.
Like it or not people will talk about what they want to talk about. There are too many McCann threads a lot of them barely related to the topic and whinging about violations and trolls, but there is nothing stopping someone starting a thread on the subject they want to talk about.

Not a "stupid" answer, I trust, but here in rural Hertfordshire the concern over shootings in our normally peaceful Letchworth Garden City far outways the constant bombardement of coverage of the McCanns.
I am fed up with them, although I hope & pray for her safe return, many seem to be weary of the media coverage.

There seem to have been quite a few shootings of this kind lately. The fact that it hardly caused a ripple is a sad reflection on people nowadays.

Hundreds of murders happen every day.
We only talk about the ones the newspapers decide to tell us about.
A murder is either sensationalised or completely ignored.

everyone is supposed innocent until proven in a court of law to be guilty .I for one am sick and tired of this guilt by denunciation propagated by the gutter press .The death of that young boy is a tragedy and I hope they find the culprit and duly punish him thru the courts not the press
