Warm ocean surface(26.5 degree celcius atleast),steep lapse rate(Fall of temperature with height)to produce convective clouds,moist layers of air to a considerable height(5 Kms atleast),a minimum distance of 500 kms from the equator for the coriolis force to act,a pre-existing near-surface disturbance with sufficient vorticity and convergence and absence of strong vertical shear(variation of wind speed and direction with height) are the favourable conditions for the formation of a hurricane.

It is formed over in Africa with their lightning storms. It is a man created phenomen due to cutting down trees.
The heavy rain, the humidity, and the wind come together and sometimes form hurricanes. It happens off the African coast.
