I personally think its a GREAT idea who knows how many guns or drugs are being kept down there , and its just not appropriate , AND if they ONLY knew How STUPID they look trying to hold up there pants and walk .......I actually doubt there will be any law made against it cause there now calling it a "black youth " thing so to do anything would be ohh "racist".....so I'll just keep pointing and laughing untill the fade` is over ~!

i wish this would be made a federal law/ there is nothing more disgusting than walking behind someone with clothes 3 sizes to big on i dont want to see you backside or your underwear. clothes are meant to fit on the waist nice an neat not hang off of you all sloppy
wearing sloppy hanging baggy clothes shows you have no class and no common decency or modesty its no different them women wearing tops with everything hanging out booty shorts and micro minis out law it all lets bring back conservative clothes that fit right

Yeah I saw that in the AJC today too. It also says exposed thongs and bra straps too. The law means well and is meant to curtail the stupid and destructive behavior of hip hop culture which Atlanta is infested with. The problem is you can't legislate stupid. The fad started because when you go to jail they take your belt, so your pants sag. Remember when having gone to jail was something you would want to hide? Maybe thats just the ideals of my generation. The bill won' be passed as it even bans women wearing jogging bras. It will also be impossible to enforce. The bill is being presented by a black city councilman so it isn't racist it is just meant to show how stupid this whole culture is.
To the person who said they are trying to keep Atlanta white is obviously an idiot. Atlanta has a black mayor that let her now ex son in law stay at her house when he has federal drug warrants out, the city council is black, the police chief is black. Atlanta is actually one of the blackest cities in the country and is suffering because of it. It won't be long before all of Atlanta looks like Clayton and DeKalb counties look at what the blacks did to Atlantic Station when it was built. Maybe they should try to whiten Atlanta.

I would hope common decency would have eradicated this problem a while back but the little buggers just don't have any.
It is going to be a difficult law to enforce and take a lot of manpower - I mean seriously who are the pants police? If they have the time to worry about pants maybe they could send some cops over to Iraq or to other cities with crimes?

How can they point it out as a black youth thing? I thought the politically correct police are taught not to assume that just black kids wear baggy pants . Are they admitting that only blacks wear them and it will be racial profiling? Cant have it both ways .

I think its STUPID. The ACLU, is going to be in the middle of it and say that the "law" is being racist. Funny thing is ... White people ware more of the baggy look.
SO they are going to waste public money and resources to create a law to stop baggy pants... whats next, no loose pink shirts on women? Where is it going to stop?

I think if they're going to wear baggy pants as a sign of being a "thug", then they should get treated like a thug. Refused service. All kinds of stuff.
And to the above poster who said the government can't tell you how to dress... try walking around downtown in nothing but socks and shoes, and see if they can tell you how to dress.

They need to work on the real problem. good kids don't put on baggy pants and them morph into gangsters.
