You forget that almost 1/2 of the Senate and the House are Republicans, not Democrats!
You know what would happen if they tried to impeach Bush! The Democrats could never get 2/3 of the Senate to vote for an impeachment after a trial so what do you want them to do? They would end up losing the same way the Republicans did when they tried to impeach Clinton! They barely got 50% which was nowhere near the number needed!
The Dems have submitted HR215 which will repeal about all of the Military Commissions Act of 2006, including Bush's get out of jail free card for torture and violating the Geneva Conventions!
You should be after the Republicans, who stupidly support Bush! Many of them won't be around in 2009!
The Republicans are holding up progress, but not for long!
And Iraq has nothing to do with the war on terror. They didn't attack the US, they were not in on 9/11 and they did not support terrorist. All they had was oil and a convenient target! With over 4,000 of our guys dead you can see how that turned out!
By the way, tell idiot Bush that the "Killing Fields" were in Cambodia, not Vietnam! It was Nixon who did nothing!
And tell Cheney to take his own advice!!!

They tried to surrender to an unorganized band of thugs half way around the world. Is there any question that they can't handle national defense? Seems pretty obvious to me. And that's why they backed down. It took a while, but they finally came around to seeing what most of us already knew and what folks like you haven't yet figured out. We need to stay in Iraq until the job is done. Period.
Of course, I do have to agree. It would be nice if liberals grew some balls. If they'd had them at the start, this whole Iraq affair would have been over long ago.

I think that the dems...deep down...way down there deep...don't want any setbacks in the war on terror. Think about it, if/when the war gets to this soil again, it's really going to distract them from growing the government with new social programs. It's harder to make the argument that Republicans are a threat to the poor when actual terrorists are blowing up citizens in mass.
So, they say one thing to the left fringe, but govern in a manner that will keep the status quo...because they anticipate having all three branches of government soon.

Ugh, the democrats have disgusted me for a while. The last election made me question whether any party affiliation was worthwhile. Now I just look to the people that are trying to get elected rather than their parties. The democrats don't need to grow some balls, but they do need to make their points more separate from the republicans, give us something to rally behind and make a different voice heard.

the only reason I seem to like Democrats is because I can't stand Republicans. The Republicans are fascists (look it up) and the Democrats won't stand up for what they believe....(and it ISN'T socialism...that's bullsh**) Reid's a wimp and Polosi is all talk. Everybody's soo deferential to the moron in the White House. They pull all their punches, and then go along with whatever Bush wants as he destroys our reputation, our credibility, our credit, our military, our jobs, and our future. Every day he's in the White House he makes matters worse and does more (possibly irreparable) damage to the country. Together they are running the worst gov't in US history. And what is worse...whether you are a Dem or Rep... you are absolutely powerless.

The Dems have spit in the face of the president and give him no respect. The country has noticed the immature behavior of the Dems. and now they have a terrible approval rating. If they gain the 2008 presidency, they will want the rules to change, too bad.

They are known flip-floppers, didn't you know that?
Actually, this war could have been won and over if all
the politicians had joined Bush in this war and pushed
for victory. But, since America itself was divided, nothing
could get done and the enemy could see we had people
here on their side, so they didn't want to do any "peace
talks" or concede as there were all those Americans who
were on the side of the enemy instead of Bush's troops.

What is there to stand up to? The democrats had their chance in the past two elections.
Though I don't support him, he is a much better man for the job than any of his opponents. If the democrats would stop pointing fingers and start trying to solve problems, they would win more elections.

What happened to the Dems? Do the corporations own them too?
I was really disappointed in their stance on illegal immigration. How does the status quo help the middle and lower classes, their supposed base?
