Why? Your helping to lower green house gass emmisions every time you choose to walk instead of take the car. Your going to be much healthier than them in the future, because of all the excercise. And you'll make more friends jsut walking down the street than you will when you're driving. Not many people pull over and ask for the time, but people stop you on the street all the time for that. Walking is awesome, and even if I had a car, I would only take it out if the place I was going was out of wlaking distance. No need to be lazy. God gave you two legs for a reason!

Don't worry about them. I mean, when I was going to school, I walked home everyday--and my house was very far away--so far in fact, that sometimes the kids at my school would drive to go get them something to eat across town, then return home (on the way passing me by as I STILL walked).
So imagine how that felt at first. It was VERY embarrassing I thought, but then I began to not care. As I walked, I listened to a CD player and eventually blocked everything out.
So don't worry about it. Even if you were getting teased for walking home, just know this: THERE ARE A LOT OF THINGS THAT ARE FAR MORE EMBARRASSING THAN WALKING HOME FROM SCHOOL.
And hey, at least you're exercising :)

I was out of school before I ever even learned how to drive. I think that there are a lot of people who walk home, especially in high school. I think that if they really thought something about you walking and not having a car, they would have at least voiced it even if they were teasing or ridiculing. Like some one else said, you will have a car someday and you wont even be thinking about today when that time comes.

You know what you shouldn't feel embarrassed. The reason why is because you could get a better car. Two if they were your friends why can't they afford you a ride home. It seems to me like they aret your true friends. I understand how you feel about wanting a car, but hey if you work hard, save money, and come to and agreement with your parents about helping to pay car insurances. I bet you will be the one looking better and fly... So don't worry just work hard you will get the car if you save up.

It's not a problem at all. If anything your getting some exercise in it. If you let it bother you it will obviously affect the way you see it. Don't be embarrassed. I did have a car in 12th grade but it was the family aerostar van...If I lived close enough to walk to school, I would rather do that and give myself a workout rather then drive.

That's a normal feeling, but just remember, many people CHOOSE to walk...only you know you are walking because you don't have a car (I'm assuming) but lots of people take the bus, walk, or ride their bikes for the environment alone, while their cars remain parked in their driveway. So raise your head, at least your actions have a nice accidental bonus. Besides, one day you'll have a car you have to drive everywhere, and then you'll wish you had a chauffeur!!

Eh, At first its a bit of a pain, but soon don't worry either you're going to meet friends who drive and can drive you home or you'll have a great group of friends to walk home with, that you'll more than likely be distracted from the snickers. Do everything with confidence, you'll have them believe that you CHOOSE to walk rather than you have no other choice but to walk.

No it's not embarrassing at all. If you think about it.. Your "friends" are wasting gas to just back and forth to school everyday, plus you're getting the exercise that they would be lacking just by driving. If it's raining or weather is in no condition to walk then just ask if they could drop you off.

No need to be embarrassed and don't worry about what other people think. Be true to yourself and be proud of who you are and what you do. And maybe those who look at you are admiring the fact that you walk home from school. Walk tall. Stand proud.
