I have four goldfish and one of those sucker fish. I have little flat pellets for the sucker to eat and I put them in there and the goldfish start nipping at them. The goldfish aren't starving by any means. They are just fat and gluttons! Is it bad for the goldfish to eat them? what should I do so they will stop??

It will not hurt a thing for the goldfish to eat the algae pellets you are feeding your pleco. In fact, it's actually rather good for the goldfish to have some in their diet. To slow downt he number they get though, you can try feeding your pleco an hour or so after you turn off the tank lights. The pleco will be more active then and the goldfish will be far less active.

Its not bad and you can't prevent it. Goldfish will try to eat it everytime. The sucker fish does not belong. Goldfish only go with goldfish. Take the sucker back. What will happen to you is the sucker fish will not get enough to eat and turn his noctournal attention to a sleeping goldfish. When he catches it he will suck the slime coat and scales off of the goldfish. In the morning you will have a half dead scaleless goldfish clinging to life. Not pretty. And it sucks when you loose an 80 dollar ranchu to a 7 dollar pleco. Besides that green algae you want to get rid of is actually good for the goldfish to eat and stimulates growth of goldfish. Plecos are not necessary.

It's fine if goldfish eat the algae food sometimes. However, the suckers themselves can harm the fish.

you shouldn,t have to feed them because they eat the algea so if you just want to feed him you can try feeding them at diffrent times like a minute after feeding the gold fish
