This is just ridicilous that some members of the Atlanta NAACP and Stephan Marbuary and other people are defending Michael Vick. I'm not trying to judge anyone but its just stupid that someone who just got a $130 million contract and endorsements on the side should be involved in organizing a dogfighting event. If it was some third string NFL bum or something I could understand a little bit. But Vick with all the money and fame has no excuse to do something like this its just stupid and yet there are still some people defending him.

There are several reasons. 1) Vick has some very loyal fans. 2) I'm sure he have many supporters who happen to be family members and close friends. 3) Some of those who are supporting him support what he does, because perhaps they fight dogs as well. 4) I hate to mention this one, but I actually know some people who are supporting him, because of race, which I happen to disagree with.

Those people that don't want you to post this are trying to cover up for Vick. To them I say:
Hey, how'd you like to be one of Vick's pit bulls that just arrived at his kennels, being KICKED in ribs for not attacking a little dog (that has his mouth taped). Then when you finally get the idea that you will be beat to death if you don't chew the throat out of the little dog - you tear it up and eat it because that's the only food you get. What is your reward...Do it again and again and even though your face is half chewed off you must win or die, cause if you don't die you will have a slow hanging death - and the life will slowly go out of your eyes- while the audience is laughing at you. That's torture my friend. Anyone that makes an excuse for this is a sick, sadistic, and cruel human that should be locked away before they kill a human.

I don't care what color he is, anyone who participates in dog fighting is a vicious cruel jerk. I always thought of this as a "redneck" or street gang activity. Now I know better. It's for spoiled millionares too. I don't know anyone in the black community who thinks this is appropriate behavior. In fact, I ll bet the vast majority of black people are as sickened by such behavior as anyone else.
To me it seems racist to claim that blacks would be more prone to this kind of senseless violence. It is no more true than any other stereotype. And if he is protecting other NFL players from being prosecuted, I hope he gets extra jail time just for that.
Brutallity is unacceptable and the more we make excuses, the more people, especially children and animals that get hurt.

for some reason, black folks like to stand behind other black folks that are in trouble. they feel that person being attacked is like an attack on the whole race, or something.
look, the NAACP, should be focusing on the confused, over-sexxed, thug-wannabe black youth. Not on Vick.
you're right, Vick has no excuse. He doesn't need to be defended. those defending him only drag their own names through the same mud Vick is in.

Cause Stephan Marbury is probably in his backyard in Virginia ripping dogs legs off right now.
I bet when he's in jail, there will be plenty of guys the size of offensive linemen who want to "support" him and they will give him all the "love" he can handle.
