Basically some 12" records have a slightly too wide centre hole, so the slightest push or pull can cause a dramatic spin. Does anyone have any tips on how to tighten up these holes so they sit on the turntable firmly?

Hi If you place them over the center of the spindle they should not move from side to side.and even if they are a bit non concentric it should not matter. Why would you push or pull the record while it is spinning ?I have some records with larger center holes and they play ok.on my turntable.

If most of the vinyl is firmly attached then I would just reglue the loose ones and lay the laminate. If more than 1/3 are loose it's better to remove them all. A propane torch or heat gun can help loosen the tiles that are more securly attached.

Hi gregsowerby,

I wrapped a piece of scotch tape around the spindle on my turntable. It worked perfect. I was able to get good audio and transfer my vinyls to my computer, enhance the audio & put them on DVDs.

Norm.
