That's a very good question. Unfortunately, they aren't REALLY his girlfriends (except Holly, she might be considered his real girlfriend). They are really Playboy employees and are under contract. Hef hires girls to be his "girlfriends", but they are really there just for the sake of Hef's image and are paid by Playboy. Its all show, but I was told California does have common law marriage (I could be wrong) and, if they weren't under contract, you might have something there.

Hugh Hefner is God, he can do anything..........lmao question is if a man keep a hooker on his payroll (to make him look good), buys her stuff and she lives under the same roof and in return she pretends to be his girlfriend, does it make her his wife by common law?

Good question... but I don't think it counts. I mean it's Hollywood for goodness sake! I doubt he is the only one living with that many girls for a long period of time. And he probably isn't breaking any polygamy laws because there wasn't an actual ceremony, legal license, or paper work.

They are such pretty girls...I can never understand why they would want to have sex with an 81 year old man, even if he is Hugh Hefner!

No. California does not have common law marriage, and his mansion is in the Holmby Hills section of Los Angeles.

Only if his state recognizes that and they've been together long enough for it to apply (it used to be 7 yrs in some states, but not all recognize it anymore I don't think).
Polygamy shouldn't be illegal anyway but that's a moot point, since it is. One day maybe that will change...the gov't could surely find a way to benefit by charging people extra taxes per spouse or something...lol!

You actually have to have acknowledged each other as husband & wife. And have proof of living together as common law, like a joint bank account or something.

I am willing to bet......that Hef had his attorneys pour over all that with a fine tooth comb........and if there was a chance of anything illegal, he nipped it in the bud and covered his a**

I don't know if three young tramps that live in an old fools house qualifies as "wives".
Gold Diggers maybe.
