Wow, wouldn't it be wonderful to be able to actually do that. Unfortunately the only air conditioning in my little old house is a huge brown clunker box mounted on the wall of the front room. It's louder than the trains running past my door, but it keeps that front room cool...if I shut all the doors... the dials read high/low fan speed and 1 to 7 for coolness... on a really hot day I turn it to 7.... luckily I have a pool.

It does not get blazing hot very often in Western Oregon, but when it does we keep the temperature around the mid 70's. It is bearable and there is always the local swimming pool if we need some relief from the heat.

About 70 degrees and for some reason I guess because it's a ground floor apartment my electric bill during super hot months was only $65.00 so I'm loving it!
