Actually, I've read in two different magazines that you CAN lie on your stomach -- it doesn't actually harm the baby. However, it is very uncomfortable, so women, as a general rule, don't. Hope this helped.

You can lie on your stomach I am currently 8 1/2 months but I carry very good and don't have a big stomach. I do sleep like that alot but also have two pillows one on each side I find it rather comfortable because laying on my side the baby kicks my ribs ouch!! This is also baby #3 and the other two came out fine.

Again, an obvious answer. You could crush the baby. However, in early pregnancy, you can sleep in any position. In the latter months, sleeping on your stomach is not only harmful to the baby, but extremely uncomfortable.

Well there is no law stating you can't lie on your stomach. Its just that usually late in the pregnancy its kind of difficult. I slept on my stomach the first 6 months with my son. It all depends on your comfort level and how big your stomach is. Trust me you won't hurt the baby at all.

It's because the baby grows out front and you can squish the baby causing them to have a bowel movement in the amniotic fluid. This can also cause premature birth and birth defects.

Well for one, it's uncomfortable. Think of laying on your stomach on top of a almost inflated basket ball.
For two-if you lay on your stomach you are practically laying on top of your baby. Not a nice thought.

because... when you lie on your stomach your whole body will be lifted off the bed and everything on you will be in like mid air except for your stomach and you also might crush the fetus
