I have never used dental floss in my life. My wife thinks I'm nuts,but to me it just seems more like something from my parent's generation.

Yeah, I hate that. When there is no dental floss available I use a string from my clothes or a hair strand when nobody is looking. Gross I know.

Yes - it's the most annoying thing - but the flat floss is better at not shredding

You're using cheap floss I see. Get some of the better kind and you won't have those issues.

no. make sure its waxed and you have clean edges on the floss and that wont happen as easily

I only gots two teeth. I just use a pocket knife to pick stuff out.
