Panthers hands down!!!! The Qb situation in Atlanta is terrible. Letting go of matt shaub really has tunred out to be a big mistake for atlanta instead of having a up and comer they are now stuck with under acheiver harrington. Plus the wideout situation is possibly just as bad as. the only good thing for atlantas offense is they have a very talented TE in crumpler and there runningbacks aren't bad either, even though Dunns skills are diminishing. The Falcons run defense is solid but there passing D is horrible. last year they had the fourth worst pass defense against the entire league. And this isn't even putting in the distraction that is going to over hang this team all year with vick situation. If anything i think the question should be are the Falcons better than the Raiders.

What a homo...what kind of person goes from one team to that team's biggest rival?....No offense..just from a Panther fan, that's appalling...
Carolina is better than Atlanta...but I'm interested to see how Atlanta will be with a QB that wants to throw the ball (even if it's to the other team) in Harrington. I'm not really afraid of him..but it's interesting now. The Atlanta run game is going to be far less effective this year now that defenses don't have to worry about Vick. I think teams will play off the line more with Harrington at QB and the run will not be the #1 rushing attack in the league, they'd be lucky to get 20th to be honest...
Carolina on the other hand...Delhomme has a lot of playoff experience and has great chemistry with the best WR in football. The run blocking changed to zone for our smaller/faster running backs...they'll be more effective this year...not to mention Dwayne Jarrett in the red zone...healthy Drew Carter and Keary Colbert...who have both been hurt so much so far...they're finally both healthy...so good WRs in the mix. If Delhomme gets hurt..we actually have somebody to fall back on. Yes..it's David Carr...BUT..with Steve Smith and an Offensive Line....how could he not do okay? Any QB in the league with that set up should be able to win games. Plus..our defense isn't as inconsistent as Atlanta's...last year they battled injuries all year...Gamble and Lucas missed 2-3 games each and Lucas was benched because he had a lingering shoulder problem and couldn't tackle...Richard Marshall is a beast at nickel CB now...he's going to be the starter by the end of the season..watch. And Julius Peppers...period
Carolina is the better team this year...no contest.

Well, it wasn't that long ago they lost to the Patriots in the Super Bowl, and they still are not going to be able to beat them.
Vick did a terrible thing and may be out, and Carolina may be better than Atlanta, but they are not better than New England, this year or next year, or anytime Belichick is coaching and Brady is throwing the football!
We have a pre=season game with you tomorrow, that means little other than to evaluate people. Many of the Patriots 1st team have yet to play this year! Carolina’s offense had a miserable performance last week. Jake Delhomme was sacked three times, lost a fumble and had an interception returned for a touchdown. New offensive coordinator Jeff Davidson _ a former Patriots assistant _ will be tested by New England, whose first-team defense sacked Tennessee’s Vince Young four times last week. You are facing probably the best linebackers in football currently!
Carolina is good, but they aren't that good. Just ask San Diego!

Well even with Vick the Falcons weren't better and now without them have who? D.J. Shockley? He's a REAL big superstar. Formerly a 3rd stringer. The falcons best pass catcher is their tight end while the Panthers have pro bowler Steve Smith. Delhomme is consistent and they have the 1-2 punch of foster and D'Eangelo williams. The falcons lost T.J. Duckett and they only have Warrick Dunn. And Carolina has a much better D.

The panthers are in fact better than the falcons even if they had Vick. Although, the NFC South belongs to the Saints without a doubt. The Panthers just do not have the offensive weaponS to make any noise.

Now that Vick's gone I think the Panthers are. If Vick was still in Atlanta I think Atlanta would be better. As they say at VA Tech.....it's hard to compete for a national championship without a big Vick.

The Falcons sucked before Vick .... well...screwed the pooch so to speak. Carolina has some good players, and should at least make a run for the division. Beyond that though, not much room for them.

I think the Panthers are a lot better than the Falcons even if they had Vick. Better defense, more consistent QB, better WR's, and as long as their healthy, better RB's.
