I personally believe that a man who committs domestic violence against a woman can not be cured; Regardless if he graduated from a Domestic Violence Class. Unfortunately, my wife disagrees. My wife's ex husband is a, "Jerk", and has been physically abusive against her, before me, in the past. The court issued a restraining order against him for 3 years and now it's about to expire this November; They also share a son together that he so happens to acquire after the violence. He did everything he could to make her life a living hell when she had her son; Thus she gave up. I suggested that the restraining order be extended and if this could not be at least a new one reinstated. My wife disagrees because she feels it would be a strain on the relationship between her and her son; thus reprisal from the ex husband. In retrospect this has caused a strain on our marriage...

Once a wife beater, always a wife beater. I agree. They never stop. They SAY they are sorry and going to stop, but never do. Look at OJ Simpson for a great example. Unfortunately, she has a child with this horrible man. So, she has no choice but to have some contact with him, and has an obligation to her child to due the best she can under the circumstances.

I don't think a restraining order is worth the paper it's written on, except that the police can arrest the abuser AFTER he's violated the order. That's great unless he's already killed you!! And if someone wants to be violent it will take a .357 to stop them, not a piece of paper.

if he comes around stand your ground and let him know who the man is..a "jerk" like that may need a chuck norris roundhouse kick to the face once or twice, but he should get the point. i have no remorse for men who beat women, they are insecure and cowards. defend your wife. explain to her son the situation honestly and whole-heartedly, let him know how much you care and how much he doesn't..

God bless

i agree with what you are saying in a way but some people can change.......however i do think that the boy shouldn't be around the father as much because if he hasn't change.....this violent streak can rub off on him (i've heard of this)
