I need to make one for my homecoming hall. We don't have too much money to spend on this. I want to know what materials would be good to use.

Use empty water or milk jugs ! I saw a really nice one a few months ago online. I found this photo today, but lots of the labels and caps are showing through. With a little white spray paint, you could zap out those colors, while not having to paint the whole jug. Have people start collecting the jugs. Good luck. After the homecoming, be sure and take the jugs to a recycle center. :-)

What about papier mache? Lots of labor but no money. Just make a frame from coat hanger wire and a tarp, and slap on your newspaper, soaked in 1/3 glue with 2/3 water. then you can paint it white and paint on the blocks.

Or, if you can afford a few yards of white fleece, cover your wire & tarp with white fleece and then draw on the blocks with a sharpie.

Styrofoam blocks would work pretty well. Check a craft store like Michael's to see what kind of pricing they have. They may offer discounts for buying in bulk. Ebay even has some.

Styrofoam. Especially the cheap coolers that are sold at grocery stores.

It takes 6 seconds for the Yahoo Answers questions to load for me to be able to click on the [add your answer] button. does this mean my laptop is slow?
