And how would he do that? It's not like you get a polygamy magic wand when you take the oath of office...

The President of the United States doesn't have that authority. A bill legalizing polygamy would have to be passed by both the House and the Senate before the President could sign it into law. Besides, most Mormons do not agree with the idea of polygamy and probably wouldn't support a law legalizing it.

Powerful as the office of the presidency is, it does not make laws, so, no. That's in addition to the fact that only isolated splinter sects of Mormonism still practice polygamy...

LOL ! the factor is, purely adult males could have numerous better halves yet females cant have multiple husbands. it incredibly is no longer honest! The polygamy is advantageous even though it may artwork the two methods. You hear Santorum (he ought to alter that call, possibly he doesnt understand what it capacity when you consider that he could under no circumstances have gay intercourse) is against gay marriage via fact it may bring about polygamous marriage, bestiality and pedifilia. So Mitt will possibly no longer enable polygamy if it finally ends up in somebody marrying a turtle ! LOL

Based on the fact that the Mormon Church outlawed polygamy over a century ago, I'm thinking they wouldn't.

The majority of Mormons gave up polygamy when Utah joined the United States. Most Mormons are embarrassed by the history and present day kooks who insist on this aberration.
Like most Americans one wife is all they can handle.

doubt it.
there would be so many protesters, and the presidents bill dosen't just pass cuz hes the president. it has to go threw all the different offices. also i don't think any president would want to be known as "that guy" who made polygamy legal.
ya-know what i mean?

The president , no matter who it is does not have the power to do that. Why do people think that the president can just start changing laws by himself?

Probably not depends if the congress and senate allow it. But before a president sign in to law, first it has to undergo votations and discussions by/at the senate or congress.
