The airbag warning light indicates a fault.
Get the fault repaired, and the systems diagnostics will put the light out automatically.
To find out what the fault is, you need to take the car to a Chevrolet dealer (Daewoo was re-branded as Chevrolet in the UK in 2005) who can use his computer to interrogate the airbag Sensing Diagnostics Module. This will tell him what fault the light is indicating, and allow him to repair it.
Do not attempt to repair the fault yourself - airbags are explosive devices, and can be dangerous if abused.

My hubby has a daewoo lanos and the AA told him to disconnect the battery for at least 10 mins when the light came on as it resets the system.

I see you are taking some heat over the Daewoo.
You have a problem with the airbag system, take it to a dealer and let him read the code and most likely, replace a defective sensor. Then the light will go out. But you need to correct the faulty part that is turning it on. good luck.

By fixing the problem that caused the light to come on in the first place. Airbag light are not like check engine light. If it's on then 99.9% of the time you'll find an "active" problem.

First you need to
Get some gas
light a match
throw the match on the car
watch the light go off with a big bang
Why would you buy a car like that?
Is Daewo still even around
