my cats tend to destroy any plant I get, so I'm looking for a plant that is non-poisonous to cats but one they'll also not eat. please help.

I've had best results with the silk variety. Some of them look very realistic, and you don't have to water them. Works for me!

I had a huge problem with my cats eating my plants. I bought them some cat grass (also called oat grass) and now that's all they ever want to eat and they leave the rest of my plants alone. Of course I can't stop growing it now or they will devour my other plants again, but it's really easy stuff to grow anyway so it's not too much hassle. I got the seeds at the local pet store, I'm pretty sure it's fairly easy to find all over.

Mine prefer small leaves, or long spiky ones. I look for plants with bigger leaves -- like a palm, instead of a fern (which would be devoured in minutes).

One of the cats likes nosing around in the dirt, so I buy those little plant stands and get them up off the floor just to slow him down a bit.
