Yes, I do. And what you say is true. Now...

:)

** On any given day there are large number of new members
** At any given time one can get very different answers depending on who is online at the time
** A member might want to get more information on a question previously asked
** A member might want to give their own details
** A member might be looking to get answers from their contact network

True there is some immature repetition that goes on (our current one here is "have you seen the bridge"). Most of us ignore these people after a while. My preference is to offer them a cupcake but that's just me.

I don't ask many questions but when I do there's usually a reason for them. Like when I wanted to say exactly how MY cat was behaving to try and find out what to do. Or ask a question at a certain point in TIME - questions that were asked a year or month or week ago wouldn't work.

In short, yes it there - but it's almost as much for asthetic completeness as anything else.

Like Terry, I have a small word document that has my 'canned' answers so that I don't have to type a whole lot and just add the comments that fit the situation.

Since YA appears to have a 30% turnover in users every week there's going to be newbies with New/old questions forever. I've built a rather useful Ouija text file for answering questions on Ouija Boards by cutting what I need to fit the question and adding a bit then pasting. It makes it easy to help someone who is actually seeking info.

If you use the search, and I have, there is such a mish-mash you can't really get rigorus educational write-up on most subjects.

It may be that some people just want to begin an open dialog and to meet others with similar or divergent thoughts on the subject rather than just read the records of what others have said or thought in the past.

Yep. In fact, someone asked your same question a year ago! Besides, even if someone asks the same type of question, different people answer questions all the time. In other words, no thing is ever definitive here!

that's a very stupid question. I saw it by the way before having seen your question about 2 months ago.
