I was walking my German Shepherd a few days ago when he made a sudden movement. It jerked the leash and I felt a sudden sharp burning pain in my wrist. Most of the pain went away after a few minutes, but now I have noticed alot of pain in my thumb at the joint where you bend your thumb at. Its a dull constant pain, not horrible but certainly noticable.

I don't think a doctor could do much for this type of injury, I can still bend & use the thumb so maybe it's not broken? I didn't want to spend the $ to see a doctor if there's nothing they can do about it, I know some injuries just have to heal on their own.

Any advice from you RN's out there? :)

Are you positive it's not broken or dislocated?

I'm not an RN but I did experience a similar injury to my right hand from a car accident. I grabbed the handle when we hit a wall and have never been able to crack it since. I knew it wasnt broken because I could move it. It hurt for several months but I have full function of my hand. Its been over a year now and I still cant crack it though. Hope yours is not as bad!
