someby told me to use something called html editor to disable double click, but we can't find it in the page (msn page) maybe msn pages don't allow you to have a html? If so, what can I do?

somedy else told me to "watermark" the pages with adobe photoshop $300.00 just to do that? does it work?

I want to protect my photos and my poetry from been taken out of the msn page.

any ideas that really work? I don't mind expending money if it works.

I want to cover all the bases, make stealing my work as difficult as i can. thanks!!

please i need explanations as simple as posible, i don't understand anything about html or where is it in the page, i don't understand anything about all this. (obviusly) : - )

somebody else told me to change to "bloggers" or other places that maybe allow html, were my work can be safe, but I don't want it to be public as in blogger, i want that only people i choose can have access to it, for exemple msn contacts. thanks for your patience!

I have never understood the paranoia about this subject. Why would someone steal your photos and poetry? Is there some massive demand for black market haiku that I don't know about?

I really don't understand what MSN source you are using.

anything you bring up on the internet is in html. Although you can set up a page in, what you see is what you get, (wysiwyg) format, when it is displayed on the internet it has been converted to html.

You can use Photo Shop Pro to apply a watermark to a graphic and it is much cheaper than Adobe, around $60.00

So I assume your MSN page is password protected? And you only allow who you want to access it? Then why is there a problem with security? If you want something password protected you could get a Phototrail account (www.phototrail.com) upload all your photos and poems as graphics and make the album password protected. (use Photo Shop Trail to put your poems into a graphic)

This is the java script for disabling right-click on images only---using 'disable right click' for an entire page tends to irritate visitors and potential "friends." Disabling right click will keep visitors from accessing the drop-down menu with the 'save picture as' option. If you choose to use this java, paste it at the very top of your HTML document.

That said, disabling right click won't really protect your images---it's mostly a superficial deterrent. The best idea is, in fact, to mark the most interesting part of your images in some way. You can use Photoshop to do this.

The simplest way is to create a logo-based mark (something with your name on it), copy it and paste it over the image you want to protect.

Use a transparent background when you create the "watermark" image in Photoshop, and once you've pasted it over the image to be protected, take the opacity (located in the layers pallatte) of the watermark's layer down to a point where it is clearly visible, but does not interfere with the image too much.

You could use true, digital watermarks, also, but the above suggestion is your easiest option.

Imbedding your poems in a graphic will keep them from being copied and pasted, but it will also limit search engines' ability to scan them for content (that means fewer hits).

As far as poetry is concerned, if you post it on the internet, it can be copied (with an old-fashioned pencil if nothing else), but you'll always have the copyright if a problem arises.

Hope this helps!

Added:

I write my own HTML/CSS and have never used one of the "helper" programs I assume you're using. I am also not an MSN user.

If you aren't writing your own code (from scratch), finding your MSN page's HTML source may be difficult for you. Contact MSN support and they may be able to help you locate it. You have to paste the Java into the HTML "source" for your webpage. I'm not sure why you've saved it in notepad, or what it's doing on your desktop.

Really, you're making a bigger deal out of this than is necessary, if you want my honest opinion.

That's the best I can do for you. Good luck!
