I'm a Catholic, and I'm a Christian ... and I speak for both my husband and myself (yes, I'm a female) when I say that we are both very 'for' homosexuality ... and while the 'Catholic Church' in Rome may 'speak out against homosexuality' our diocese and our Cathedral church (and many of the parishes) are 'in total agreement' with us ... even to the point of having 'openly gay priests' who serve the 'gay community' ...
Being 'gay' is not a CHOICE ... it's something that is 'born in' ... if it was a 'choice' then the percentages would 'show' as being 'way different' with 'animals other than human' ... but I did that research when I was working on my Master's thesis, and it gave 'exactly the same percentages' in every kind of animal, bird, or fish we tested ...

Gee whiz. Why rehash this? Simply put - "there isn't enough love in the world." Why not accept every person as having a value equal to all other people. It is when people place themselves above others - for whatever reason - that is when you have terrorists, Nazis, Republicans, and intolerant religious zealots of every stripe.
Oh, and the Republican crack was a joke. I know that you all aren't intolerant....
Hey Hans, why can a woman lie with a women but not a man? Oh, because the bible would never talk to a woman so it only meant a man laying with another man. It is the Bible's exclusion of half the human race that should be a sign to you that it is a bigoted document. But, bigots can't see that.
Let's count up the number of times Jesus condemned homosexuals or homosexual acts - uh, none - zero. The old testament is OLD. The new testament is the new agreement between God and man and Jesus is the author. He said nothing against homosexual acts. If you are condemning homosexuals based on the bible, you stand alone on the brink of hell. Jesus said treat others the way you want to be treated. Do you want to be hated just because you are you?
Edit: Gee, look how many religious people used the word "animals" to describe these people. That is how killers justify their acts. First, dehumanize the victim. Then separate them from society, they kill them because they are different. Nazis did it. You guys are supposed to be religious. Do you really want to go down that path again?

If those who go to church want to say god put all here for a reason, well then it is his choice to keep producing homosexuals. We work in the community, and as many of us as there are; I can almost bet you have one or two in your own family. Imagine if the world was the other way around. Everyone was gay and you were suppose to be " according to society from the 18th century " as well, but you were straight and you couldnt change that. Then what would you do. So quit being so closed minded and get over it., because we are not going to hide. We are here and there is nothing you can do about it.

I am both Christian and gay. I am also married and have produced six children. I am not bisexual and my relationship with my wife is not perfect, but tolerable for us both. To be Christian suggests one must follow Christ. Christ through his apostles have stated that the gay orientation is a test. You probably did not choose it. It may have been thrust upon you. But you can decide whether to go after the gay lifestyle or to struggle with your gay orientation and do what is necessary to pass the test, meaning to do what Christ has stated, namely to forge a relationship with another who can produce progeny, so you too can have the same experience your Father in Heaven has with us His children. Will this mean no contact with same gender people. No. But you have to find a way for these relationships to stay within the bounds He has set. It is very difficult. Most true Christians want to help you work this out. Howver, they can not agree with the gay lifestyle choice of having multiple partners, unstable emotion and some of the other things which happens in that world. By the way I understand that world because I was in it once. Good luck

I'm a homosexual who is--as an individual--against Christians. How's that? OK, I'm exaggerating. But, for all you Christ followers out there, remember that Christianity has started many wars and killed many people. There are so many so-called "Christians" out there that use the excuse that god doesn't like gays to beat up gay people. How's that for loving your neighbour, eh?
And for those of you who are using the whole "procreation" excuse, have you ever heard of birth control? Do you ever use it? If so, then I ask you this: If straight sex is OK because it's used for procreation, is it still OK when you're using birth control and doing it for pleasure rather than to make a baby? Many parts of this world are overpopulated as it is, and there are lots of couples of all sexualities who choose not to have kids for that reason or others.

I'm a lesbian and I'm a Christian, I totally believe in Jesus's message of love. My wife and I both go to a wonderful church that is welcoming to all of the GLBT community, it's part of their outreach and they support our community in many ways. And the majority of the church members are not GLBT, though many are. We had many supporting churches march in the Portland Pride Parade this year, it always is so heart warming for me to see them there.
to jimobasa: Get real, no one eversays they want everyone to be Gay. In fact that implies being gay is a choice, which it is not. Your logic is flawed. Only about 10% of the population is GLBT. If the human race is in jeapordy from anything, it's over-population created by straight people!

Unfortunately there are quite a few people who hide behind something to justify what they do and why they are against another person. It never says anything about hating or hurting a person who is of different orientation in the bible. But as said before, people like to mold things in it to their own situation and into their own words so they believe that they are in the right to be against another person like that. There is no real reason besides those people wanting something to hate or dislike, something different from themselves in one way or another.

No, being a gay Christian my self, I can honestly say, that I am not against homosexuals! Although I no longer practice any form of organized religion, I still have the teachings that have molded my life, and made me the person I am today. I have had to struggle with what I was taught to believe what the bible says, to what I really believe. It has taken me several years to come to terms with myself, to accept myself.
Most of the major religions will teach that homosexuality is wrong, and that we are all going to die and go to hell, well if that is true, at least I will be in hell with my partner!

Great question.. It makes me sick the way some "christians" act or speak. The things they say totally go against what Christ taught. Christ said " he who has not sinned, throw the first stone" We are all sinners. Also, it never mentions in the Bible that one sin is worst than another. I totally disagree with what most Christians say about homosexuals. In school, I was in the Gay Straight Alliance and the Bible group. To each their own..

I am a Christian and was tauught from an early age not to judge others as I have enough issues of my own to worry about. I also recall the Bible saying to love your neighbor as you love yourself, not just the straight ones or gay ones, but all of them. There are too many people in the world who judge others based on their orientation, race, size, religion etc. If we all treated others as we wanted to be treated, we would not have the issues in the world that are present today.
