(x^2)(sqrt Y) or (x^2)(Y^1/2)

when you see a negative in the exponent, you can always 'get rid of it' by transfering the variable with the negative exponent to the numerator or denominator:

x^2/y^-(1/2) = x^2y^(1/2)

You would need another equation to solve for x and y.
