Teemu is an unrestricted free agent. He could retire, or just go back to Finland. He lives in a fairly ritzy area (Coto De Caza) in Orange County and may just want to stay here and not play.

Niedermayer is still under contract. However, Burke signed some new D men with the idea Niedermayer will, in fact, retire.

It's anyone's guess at this point. A bit of intrigue is that if Niedermayer does NOT retire, the Ducks will have serious salary cap issues.

I am in agreement with a few of the answerers. Neidermeyer has accomplished what few have done. Won a cup with their brother... (Sutters made that distinction a big deal only because there were 6 of them). He has at least 2 cups (1+ with Jersey and now 1 with Anaheim). There isn't much left for him to do besides be a captain and lead the Ducks back and win another. Selane, answered by others. These 2 need to really make up their minds... They are holding up cap space that could have been used for other players to shore up the holes these 2 would create... the other problem that will arise will be what to do with some of the new blood the ducks have if they do decide to stay. There isn't enough cap space to keep them both, plus the current roster they already have set up.

Selanne is more likely to retire than Niedermayer at this stage. Neither has filed retirement papers yet, though rumours persist that Selanne has accepted a position with the Finnish Ice Hockey Federation beginning November 1st.

Scott still has lots of hockey left in him, but he really has nothing left to play for.

I think scott will retire because he's won it all, a memorial cup, stanley cup, norris trophy, a world junior championships, a gold medal at the olympics for canada, and even a stanley cup's final mvp.

But I think that Teemu Selanne will play one more season just to see if the ducks can repeat.

Well Scotty and Teemu probably would have made the decision if they were going to training camp by now,so i don't think they will come back. But I am a HUGE ducks fan and I really hope that they would make the right decision( to come back)

I could see Niedermayer coming back since he has some contract left. If Niedermayer returns, Selanne is not coming back because they are near the cap. If Niedermayer retires, Anaheim gets 6.3 million back of cap space which will go to Selanne, so guaranteed one of them is retiring, but I think it is Selanne.

Good question!
I think Nieds will retire! Selanne will play one more year to repeat the Cup win!
Go Ducks!
They are going to be awesome with the addition of Matthew Schneider and Todd Bertuzzi! I hope Bertuzzi plays like he used to. he was a high scorer in the better days.

1. That's a question?
2. Relax. Wouldn't you after the years of the hockey grind.
3. Yes, Scott shaved off his beard and returned to normal. Teemu can be seen driving his hot sets of wheels in rally car races now.

Ducks won't repeat. Two huge holes plus you have thee lazy Toadtuzzi. Good luck with that.

I THINK THEY WILL END UP PLAYING FOR THE DUCKS!
IF THEY ARE SMART OFCOURSE !
BUT HEY SHOULD ONLY SIGN A 1 YEAR DEAL SO THEY CAN THINK ABOUT RETIREMENT
AFTER THEY HAVE MADE A TON OF MONEY FOR WINNING THE STANLEY CUP!
